New Toolkit Launch: Helping Local Councils Go Net Zero
Developed in collaboration with sustainability experts and pilot councils, the toolkit offers a step-by-step guide to measuring emissions, setting realistic carbon reduction targets, and implementing low-cost, high-impact environmental actions.
The resource includes templates, case studies, procurement guides, and training videos—all tailored for councils with limited budgets and capacity. It aims to bridge the gap between ambition and action by providing easy-to-follow guidance rooted in real-world experience.
“Many councils want to lead on climate action but struggle with where to start,” said GFA’s Head of Resources, James Okoro. “This toolkit demystifies the process and provides clear, practical support to get local authorities moving in the right direction.”
Early adopters of the toolkit have already seen progress, with pilot councils reporting improved energy efficiency and increased community engagement in sustainability initiatives.
The Net Zero Toolkit is free to GFA members and available to non-members for a nominal fee. To access the toolkit or learn more about joining Green Futures Alliance, visit our Knowledge Hub page.
Let’s turn policy into progress—together.
