At Green Futures Alliance (GFA), we believe that strong, sustainable communities are at the heart of a greener future. That’s why we’re proud to launch our 2025 Community Grants Programme, offering funding and support to local groups across the UK who are making a real difference on the ground.
Whether you're reimagining your neighbourhood for walking and cycling, planting trees on your street, or leading the charge on local sustainability, GFA is here to back your vision.
Our application process is simple and supportive. We welcome first-time applicants and are happy to offer guidance throughout.

Active Travel Communities Grant
Funding Available: Up to £10,000 per project
Who it's for: Local community groups, schools, residents’ associations, and councils
What it supports:

Projects that make walking, wheeling, or cycling easier, safer, and more inclusive

Community-led design of walking/cycling routes

Secure bike parking and repair stations

Events and campaigns to encourage active travel habits
Whether you're planning a "School Streets" initiative, mapping safer routes, or organising a local cycling festival, this grant can help turn your ideas into reality.
Circular Community Projects Grant
Funding Available: Up to £12,000 per project
Who it's for: Social enterprises, grassroots organisations, CICs
What it supports:

Reuse, upcycling, or skills-sharing projects

Educational campaigns on waste reduction and the circular economy
